My favorite painter is Claude Monet. His water lilies speak to me. The colors draw me into a world of calm and quiet. I want to be there! It is goal of mine to visit Monet’s garden at Giverny and look to see if I can view the lilies as the artist did ~ capturing one precious moment in time.
I intentionally write and paint near a large window that overlooks my garden. It keeps me grounded and aware of how nature is always changing. It reminds me to savor “this moment in time”. I honor the present moment with gratitude and an awareness of the blessing of today.

Hi Mrs. Friedson-
I hope you are having a great summer. I really miss having you as my teacher. Your art is very beautiful and interesting! I’d like to learn more about what inspired you and what your techniques are for making your art. I also want to know all the kinds of animals that inspired you, too! I hope we can stay in touch and you have a great summer. Take care of yourself!
Love,
Izzy Pipa
Hi Izzy! I was a printmaker in college and fell in love with making textures and marks. I use a variety of pencils from very soft to very hard to write on the layers of my paintings. I also stamp with different textures on my paintings. I developed this style of working in layers as a way to get my feelings out; and enjoy the act of creating art. I paint and write as a tool for healing my body, mind and heart. My favorite animal is the bunny. Bunnies are very soft, a little fragile and very aware of their surroundings. I love beagles and I am often found walking and cuddling my beagle Farfel! You can write me at elephantheart@gmail.com. Have a great summer and keep nurturing your gift. You are an amazing artist. I am very inspired by the detail and care that you put into your work. love, Mrs. Friedson
